Part Two was established 1986 in Copenhagen. From the very beginning, the iconic Scandinavian design tradition has inspired our designers and formed the basis of our design philosophy. In 1986 we intro¬duced a classic look aspiring women to dress in beautiful and comfortable clothing, reflecting an active and healthy lifestyle. From the beginning the brand enjoyed great success.
We are constantly looking at new ways to improve our production processes and products, as well as the impact these could have on our planet. Whenever we design a new style, we focus on every single detail to deliver the best possible product with the least possible environmental and social impact.
We believe that the best pieces are timeless — and that personal style goes beyond trends and seasons. Our design team creates long-lasting collections crafted from high-quality fabrics so that you can keep your Part Two garments for years to come.
“Responsibility is also about keeping your clothes for a long time and not constantly replacing them. Therefore, we make a great effort to produce high quality products that you will be able to keep for years to come.”
Design Manager, Frederikke Villaume
We acknowledge that we can do more, and we are constantly looking at new ways to improve our overall production processes and products. We aim to use responsible fibres when making garments, and we are closely monitoring developments within this area. Below you will find an overview of the more responsible fibres that we are already using.
OUR COMMITMENT
As a fashion brand operating in 17 countries all around the world, we are aware of the environmental impact that our industry has on the planet. This is why we are committed to responsible business practices that benefit the environment and the people and animals who live in it.
We are currently focusing on the following areas:
• We have joined the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), which is a global organization committed to ensure a more responsible global cotton production through the reduced use of pesticides and water. By 2022 we will source 100% of our cotton from more responsible alternatives (e.g. organic cotton, BCI cotton and recycled cotton).
• We are reducing our use of conventional viscose, and we are looking to more responsible alternatives such as Lyocell, Tencel™ Lyocell, Tencel™ Modal and EcoVero™ viscose. This group of textile fibres is produced in a closed system, where chemicals and water are recycled to the best extent possible. When using conventional viscose, we strive to use trees sourced from managed plantations, where new trees are planted to replace those felled. By 2025 we will source 100% of our viscose from more responsible alternatives (e.g. EcoVero™ and FSC®-certified materials).
• To limit our use of conventional polyester, we aim to replace it with recycled polyester that comes from either recycled water bottles or textile offcuts. By 2025 we will source 50% of our polyester from more responsible alternatives (e.g. recycled polyester).
• We continue to produce garment hang tags from recycled paper, as well as printing our catalogues and brochures on FSC-certified paper. In 2020 we will source 100% of our paper and cardboard boxes from recycled or FSC®-certified materials. In 2020 we will source 100% of our poly- and master bags from recycled plastic.
• Our animal welfare policy prohibits the unethical treatment of animals, including the plucking of live birds and the mulesing of lambs. Furthermore, we have banned the use of leather and real fur that originates from breeding for textile use only. By 2021 we will source 100% of down in line with industry best practice (e.g. RDS Responsible Down Standard). By 2025 we will source 100% of our wool in line with industry best practice (e.g. RWS Responsible Wool Standard). In 2020 we will source 100% of our leather from tanneries with a minimum of Bronze-level certification according to LWG (Leather Working Group).
